Telecaster Weights.......
I decided to weigh some Telecasters. I used a 0-25 lb kitchen scale. The weights are probably pretty close. The results will at least show what's heavy and what's not.
1966 Telecaster...........6 1/4 MIM Standard..............7 7/8 MIM 50s Classic............6 3/4 MIM James Burton........7 3/4 MIJ 52 Reissue.............7 1/2 MIJ Jerry Donahue.........5 7/8 MIJ Buck Owens............7 3/4 MIJ 69 Thinline RI..........6 1/2 MIJ 72 Thinline RI..........6 MIJ Paisley....................6 3/4 MIJ 62 RI w/Bigsby........8 3/8 Telecoustic...................4 1/2 |

my highway one weighs 7.3 lbs, i have a 71 that feels about the same maybe slightly less. i have an american deluxe i'd estimate at 7 3/4...
i dont have a scale though, i just compare to my highway one, that the guy at gc weighed on a postal scale i have a made in korea "custom telecaster hh" that is light as a feather, in the 6 pound range maybe less. it has a thinner body than usual |
