Where does he get all of those USA Tele Necks from?

This person on EBAY known as reliablefender, anybody wonder how he gets so many usa telecasters, then he murders them and sells them on ebay a piece at the time.If he thought he could make extra he would take the frets out of the necks. This person needs some serious looking at.He is defienitly in this for the money.

He buys factory seconds and blems and takes them all apart for more $$.

He gets the stuff right from Fender so its all real Fender parts he just ends up making more money as parts if it was a complete guitar. So in my opinion he is pretty smart.

They are good to deal with, I bought a set of knobs from them, very "reliable" fast service. I see nothing wrong with parting out a new guitar. What does make me upset is people taking apart vintage guitars and parting them out in order to make a killin

This seller along with some others has carved out a niche on eBay selling parted out guitars. This seller seems to stick to mostly recent stuff but there are others have no gumption about putting a screwdriver to a 30, 40 or 50 year old guitar. Yes it is sad to see guitar with years of history or mojo being sold in pieces to make a buck but we live in a market driven society, if no one bought their stuff then you wouldn't see these kinds of sellers on eBay.

The dark side of all this are the sellers who construct "vintage" instruments from the parts they purchase and then try to pass them off as original vintage pieces at premium prices. There was one guy for a while on eBay who seems to have a steady supply of dead mint late 60's and 70's Fenders complete with manuals and case candy. We termed him the "Unda da bed" guy because he claimed that his creations had been tucked away under someone's bed for all these years. As it turns out he was operating under probably 10 different eBay ids buying complete guitars and parts under some ids and then selling parts and "unda da bed" guitars under other ids. If you did the sleuthing you could see where he took the best parts from what he bought and then assembled them into what he claimed where 100% original guitars.

Under Da Bed also used to work for Fender thats how he got all those new hangtags and manuals. When you have all the hangtags manuals new looking case and new looking guitar its easy to fool people into thinking its an all original guitar with all matching parts.

I bought a 91 rosewood Am Std Tele neck that was dead on from him. Seemed pretty reasonable to deal with.

With all due respect sudancat -

Geez...take a chill pill. Haven't we covered this before?

As much as I love my guitars,
they aren't living things.
Do you consider it murder if you modify your own guitar? Or is it only murder if others do it?

I didn't realize that making an (honest) profit was so obscene. If this guy stops selling his parts, immoral people will still try and create "original" instruments out of pieces and pass them off as new...let the buyer beware.

I have no affiliation with this guy or any other but...
The guy fills a need for people that want parts. And apparently has a good reputation.
If it offends you - don't buy.
Just don't try to deny others the right to buy.

Hey- at least he's NOT a Marxist !!!
(I mean Karl, NOT Groucho.)

Anybody know where I can buy some frets????

I bought a gold Fender American Series bridge for my Tele project. When I realized that I forgot to tell Warmoth not to drill the string and mounting holes for the body they made me (because the American series is backwards from the standard), I thought I was stuck with the bridge.

I went on ebay with the purpose in mind of getting a seller's account and selling the bridge. When I started checking other auctions to get an idea of what they go for, I ran across reliablefender. They had a solid black American series Tele body. I figured, what the heck. I bid on it and won. Other than one scratch at the rear of the guitar, it was perfect. Of course, then I needed to get a new neck, and all the parts for it...but it was a labor of love. LOL

What started out as a dream project guitar turned into two guitars! I really love the black Tele with the Warmoth neck on it. It is very nice to play, and sounds really sweet. Kudos to reliablefender. They were the right people in the right place at the right time.
