It's Here!
The Big Brown Truck arrived at lunchtime today and dropped off my new toy... 50s MIM tele, in white blonde. I tuned it up (about a half-step flat), plugged it in, and hit an open E chord... Heavenly!
I have changed the pickguard out to a 1-ply black, and just ordered a set of compensated brass saddles from a fellow TDPRI'er. So far the pickups sound OK to me; maybe a little trebely, but what do I know? For the last year I've mainly been playing a Duncan JB-equipped guitar, so I'm a little out of hearing practice. It's just a hair over 7 pounds, and feels wonderful. I'm very excited. Thanks for all the tips! I'm sure we'll be very happy together... MarkMM |
