Anyone heard the new Roy Buchanan CD, American Axe?
I just noticed this new CD listed in a mail/Internet record company I buy from occasionally. It's for a CD of live Rioy Buchanan cuts circa 1974. Anyone have it yet or heard it? I'd be interested to hear some reactions before I fork out $15 for it.
Here's the description: ROY BUCHANAN - American Axe: Live in 1974 > American Axe: Live in 1974 captures the legendary Roy Buchanan performing a live set of previously unreleased material. Joining Roy Buchanan is the band that performed with him throughout most of the '70s - Malcolm Lukens (organ), John Harrison (bass), Byrd Foster (drums), and Roy with his Telecaster. Some highlights include Buchanan > classics ("The Messiah Will Come Again", "Hey Joe", and "Sweet Dreams") as well as unrecorded songs ("Get Out of My Life, Woman", "Done Daddy Dirty") |

not out yet
I have heard bootlegs of both shows and both shows are considered by traders to be some of Roy's best from his best period. This CD is supposed to come out June 3rd I think. I have one ordered and will share my review shortly after receiving my copy of the CD

Dunno for sure. There is a Distributer is some repute but I dunno who will want to carry it. It is hard enough to find Roy's stuff from the major labels. You can order it at Amazon.com. To me that is as easy as trying to find it in stores. Dunno if that helps but I hope it does
