What brand could that one be? Help needed

Hello everybody,

I hope there's somebody around able to help me out on this one.

[ long story mode: on ]

As I am in urgent need of a new Tele Deluxe I was searching the usual places, i.e. eBay ;-.) and found
an auction for a Tele Deluxe body. Unfortunately (?) I missed that auction but dropped a mail to the highest bidder to contact me in case the body wasn't what he'd expected or something.

Exactly that happened. In the meanwhile I was collecting information whereever I could and as I went back to the auction's pics I am not sure of this anymore.

Have a look at yourself:

http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...sPageName=WDVW

I know it's in german (doh!), basically it says genuine Fender body (which it's definitely not!), made in USA (which I don't know) and made of solid alder (which I can't say until I scratch off a bit of the finish).

I assume it could be a Squier body as they offer Tele Custom II`s in that color.

On the other hand it has all the features I would miss on a MIM RI, means no 3 point neck joint and blonde finish.

So - to the people kept reading until this point, thank you! - if there's anybody out there owning a Squier Custom or anybody else who could supply some information on this one, I'd really really appreciate it!

I mean, really!

And if this one's junk I would have to go with a reissue and have to choose between MIM and MIJ. Short note on which way to go?

Thanks for reading and stuff
warm regards
alex

bert,

yeah, this is what made me wondering as it seems to be alder to me, too. i think i'm gonna give it a try as i went to my local music shop y'day and the hardware and most of all the neck on the MIM tele custom there didn't really make a good impression to me.

i would go with a *** but where to find one?
thanks for your help anyway and liebe gruesse aus berlin!
