Anybody tried the Mightymite necks?
I'm re-piecing a basketcase tele, & need a neck. I would use a Warmoth (used them b4), but not sure if this project will be worth it. I talked to a tech at another site, & he said he's used them for years, & never had a problem, & prefers them to most replacements. The price is tempting, but I don't want to get stuck, either. I usually get used parts at shows, but none in area for a while. Any thoughts?........D.M.

yeah
I bought a new unfinished birdseye maple Tele neck on eBay through Victor Litz music for $99. The fretwork is real good and it's straight as an arrow. I had it finished and it looks and plays great.

MM parts
Well MM has been around a LONG time, they offered some of the first replacement necks, pu's etc that I had ever seen back in the 70's, don't know if it's the same company now though.
When Reverend Guitars first started up I remember reading that they used Mighty Mite necks (altered headstock shape) for their guitars, and everyone seems to think highly of the Reverend axes. |

I don't
really care for MM NEcks...
Got one from "stratfinder" on ebay...it was a maple cap, was straight and had nice curls, but to me doesnt have a good vintage feel on the surfcaster that we put it on...I would recomend getting the Warmoth or USCustom, or Relicmasters.com - If you use Warmoth just watch those curls in the maple, they are prone to cracking (happened to one of my axes! but was cured by Dr. Rob!) |
