Left Handed Telecaster in Westchester

Hello

I'm looking to buy a used left handed Telecaster like this one:

I'm in Westchester NY.

The first thing I thought of was craigslist.org but the chances of finding a left handed guitar seem remote.

Does any one have suggestions.

I have quite a few left handed instruments but have bought them all new. I never see a used left handed that I want. If price is the issue you can get new ones in all ranges. I just got a new MIM for 3 somthing, put on a callaham vintage bridge and saddles, S.D. Broadcaster
and am perfectly happy.

I bought my 70's lefty on Ebay. Not the best place for a great deal unless you can snag a cheap "buy it now" price. It's going to be extra hard to find one used if you're looking for an exact model and/or color. Like Mike says, new might be the way to go. Us poor left handed guys, huh!

Check the last several weeks of completed items on ebay...'62 reissues in the $500 range, G&L ASAT's in the same. I have bought both new and used Teles and ASATs over the years in that same price range. ASAT Classics are my standard now: one with Glaser b/g bender, one with aftermarket G&L trem, one stock except for added middle pickup, and an ASAT with a Glaser b bender. Also have a Zion '50 with a Parsons-White. There's lots around if you look...

I've bought a lot of used lefties on eBay. You have to be patient, learn to bid, and communicate well. Keep an eye on sales for a while to see what the going rate is. If you learn to sell, you can get rid of those that don't tickle your fancy at about what you bought them for. As a lefty, buying and selling is the only way I've found to really try out a variety of guitars.

Of course, you can also go down to Houston and visit Southpaw Guitars. They have about 3-400 lefties to try. Their prices are fairly high, but it's the only place I know of where you can put your hands on that type of selection.

If you are looking for that exact style of Tele (which I believe is a 52 R.I.) got to a Guitar Center or Musician's Friend. I just bought a 52 R.I. Tele a few days ago at a G.C. in the Chicago area. They had 2 available and I chose the one with tighter grain. I have also seen them available online at Musician's Friend. These particular guitars are in the $1200-1300 range.

I've never seen a left handed '52 Reissue...unless maybe its a custom shop, and then you're talking bigger buck$. Highway 1 tele's don't come in LH either...very little does. If you noticed, Fender doesn't exactly cater to those using the right side of the brain, if you catch my drift...
I'd go with the LH MIM standard telecaster (and mod it if you want)...I put on a Callaham vintage bridge and a Warmoth neck, cause I don't like small frets, but all in all, its a great stock guitar for the money, new or used.
If you want to spend more and get exactly what you want (IF you know what you want), then assemble a Partscaster - a great option for us lefties. (It may not say "Fender" on the headstock, but the hell with 'em if they don't produce what I want to buy.)
