    Mine too, Fuzzy

    Essential reading!

    A new one for $5?!

Hmm, I'll look out for one on eBay.

You know, it's about time you wrote the last 10-years. How about it? Nacho will help with the Broadcaster section.

    Regards

    Peter

    Despite my wife's complaints...

I have it always on my night table...I can forget whete my wallet is, but my "Tele book" is always there waiting for me...

Wow Fuzzy, 5 bucks! good deal!

BTW, I'm with Peter in this one. If you and Nacho ever write a book about Teles, I'm the first one buying it! Actually, I'd pay premium for the serial number 00001, with your signatures on it...

I'll bet you've memorized it, FUZZY...Why get a new one?

If you've referenced The Fender Telecaster enough times to make that much of a mess of it, I'll bet you a shiny new dime you already know everything in it, cover-to-cover!

But, if not, I know Gruhn's here in town always keeps 'em in stock--I'll send one or two to you, if need be. :)

Time flys by so fast....in a blink of an eye ....

Damn....I'm getting so freakin old...I remember when that book first came out...I bought mine at Cambridge Music...god so long ago....that book has been with me a long time....I bought the book cuz I loved teles forever (since at least 81) but mostly I was excited because I had actually played a few of the Sprung guitars at Southworths a couple years before the book came out...the Gold sparkle tele and the Antigua one...they didnt cost alot back then either...I remember saying to myself...who played that gold guitar? I had visions of like a LasVegas show band guy using it...I remember sitting there in Southworths for hours just pickin and trying all the guitars out ...it was upstairs in this old house I think, they had 3 or 4 rooms full of vintage gear, back then it was just old used gear and the Fender room had this oriental carpet and it smelled like cat pee..A very hippy kind of place..I think it was in Georgetown...up on a Hill...i took my Dads girlfriends Dodge Dart out there in the rain to find a guitar and then got really lost in DC in a not so nice neighborhood......I wish I had bought that gold tele..

    Gruhn's

    Joel,
How much does Gruhn's sell them for? I've never read the Bible (at least not the Telecaster Bible *L* ) and would love to have a copy. I'm only about 2 1/2 hrs from Nashville so I could run up and pick one up. I'd like to check Gruhn's out anyway. I've never been there.

    Thanks,
    Joel

(by the way, it almost looks like I'm sending a message to myself. *L* )

    Hey, Joel:

Gruhn Guitars sells The Fender Telecaster by Andre Duchossoir for $15.95 each.

By the way, I think it's great to have two Joels from Tennessee here at TDPRI!

    Take care,
    Joel

The time is ripe for a new edition.

With all of the cool Teles that have been produced since that book first came out. The '52ri and all of its incarnations could have its own chapter. Of course the purple Shoemaker/Penny would have to be snuck in there.
This page and the rest of the internet practically guaruntee that there's a strong market for such a book IMO.

    THAT's the Tele bible?

when people talked about the Tele bible i had visions of some big thick hardbound thing with lots of instructions on 3-barrel intonation and four or five definitions of "twang."

now i realize i've owned that book for years and read it through about four times over! i bought it before i ever owned a tele and was still playing buzzy notes on a silvertone strat copy.

    hmm. silly me.

    Funny stuff, Cooper!

Just goes to show that you shouldn't judge a book by its cover ...

Just when is a new one coming out?

He renewed the Strat one years ago, time for an update for this one now. As someone said earlier, a chapter on the 52RI alone can be made.
