63 CS blowout

hi all,
Been lurkin' and want to thank you all for the education (and entertainment!). I was looking for a tele just like the one my buddy plays: 1963 Blonde--the real one. After 40 years of pickin', I fell inlove when I first touched it, seven years ago. Recently, I had it here in the studio for six months, and can not/cannot/can't live without it now that it has gone home! The neck, the action, the vibe, the SOUND(s)! Maybe someday...

Late last night, I noticed nearly all Musician's Friend's 63 CS TM Teles turned into "Blems". I thought hard, and realized that a "scratch and dent" Relic could be a good bargain, then I watched for a awhile as a few of the "Blem" CS TM Strats I had also bookmarked became listed as No Longer In Stock Discontinued Item. Closer inspection of the web pages reveals the CS guitars, while labeled "Blem" really say, "Sale Price: $1,299.99 - $1,499.99 Web Special". Other scratch and dent blems do not say Sale or Web Special. A CS blowout! On my Vintage Blonde Tele! $1299.99 + 12 month no interest + 45 day, 100% guarantee-- bought it!!

If it arrives scratched and dented, I can blame the Custom Shop. If I do not like the guitar--or my breakfast that morning--I can send it back. MF has always done me right on returns, even pre-paying/refunding shipping charges (to Alaska) when something is truely defective. 67% off list is the way I prefer to accomodate my GAS.

Isn't that a little high for a scratched and dented guitar ?

I would try to talk the friend into selling the original 8)
