Fender Tele: American Standard vs. American Deluxe

There is about a $300 price difference in the Fender American Standard Tele and the Fender American Deluxe Tele. The Deluxe sounds cool, what's it got the the other doesn't have? What exactly is the S-1 switching? And are the SC noiseless picks better than the Seymor Duncans and the lipstick ones that come on the American Standard? I've played the Am Standard and I've fallen in love with it, but cant find the deluxe to play it. Is the deluxe worth it?

I probably shouldn't respond but...

Someone should say that, either:

a) You're a troll, or
b) You may wish to consider lurking for a while and getting acquainted with the "Search" function.

Kind regards,

maybe you'shouldn't have respnded

If I have specific questions and they haven't been answered in other thread then I am going to ask them you thinks I don't know what I'm doing then just keep your coments to yourself, and let me do what I do. Dont be a jerk people.

Maybe they weren't SD's but I always see Duncan on the pups.

The American teles are such quality the last few years that I don't think there's as much reason to shell out the extra for the Deluxe as there used to be. But if you like the pickups in the Deluxe and the belly cutaway and the abalone fret dots (hard to see on maple) and, most importantly, if the individual guitar feels right to you....then get one. Otherwise I'd recommend finding an American standard tele that you like (or even a different cheaper model like the other ones you've been looking into). With a good setup and a few upgrades (pickups, pots, shielding...) even a MIM standard can play and sound nearly as good as a Deluxe.
Check out a 69Thinline RI if you have a chance. Seriously cool guitars, especially for blues.

BTW...I agree with you. Stencil is out of line.
Don't let a few rude people put you off the forum.
