Gramfest & Gene Clark tribute ..

It's Gramfest time again! (almost)..Oct 1st, 2nd, & 3rd, in Joshua Tree, California. Fifty bands and lots of Teles. Sunday is the Gene Clark tribute (same location), and it looks like there'll be some Flying Burrito Bros (Sneaky Pete, Chris Ethridge) and other country-rock greats such as tele-picker Bob Warford (who recorded hits w/Linda Ronstadt, Chris Hillman, and toured w/Everly Bros, Roy Orbison, and Emmylou Harris). Also, Gib Gilbeau will be performing (Gib was lead singer in Clarence White's band, Nashville West, and also fiddler for Linda Ronstadt). Master-Tele-builder Fred Stuart is performing with his band. Last year the festival had lots of american roots and country-rock artists, and it seemed every band had a great picker.

Oh well, one more reason I wish I could instantly transport myself anywhere...

Have fun, I'll toast Gram and Gene from the Atlantic coast!

Cheers, Tim
