Brother Ray

Is it just me, or does everyone else get warm and goosebumpy and a little sad thinking of Brother Ray lately?

We wont ever see anyone like that again in our life on earth. Ray himself said all the music was inside him and he had to get it out.

I saw him live here in Bakersfield at the Fox Theater which seats about 1200 people. The stereo store I managed sold tickets and I got 2 free tickets. Awesome evening with a full range of emotions. When he sang America The Beautiful there wasnt a dry eye in the whole building the ushers everyone was crying.

Ray Charles & Duke Ellington

are two performers I regret never having seen perform live. I've always felt that Ellington was America's Beethoven, and Ray was it's singing voice.
