A One Piece Bodied Fender Telecaster Highway One?
What are the chances of this?
I just received one of these guitars in a Honey Blonde & for the life of me I can not find any seams anywhere? I've refinished quite a few Les Paul (lower end models like the Faded Series) so I do know what & where to look. The HWY 1 I just got sure looks like a one piece Alder body. Is this fairly rare or is Alder a lot easier to get a hold of in larger sizes? Thanks! |

Mellecaster is right! It's probably decades since Fender made a production guitar with a one-piece body.
It's not far between those who think they got a one-piece body, though. Some bodies are so well matched up - including my own '52 RI - that there's no way you can see the seam(s) on the front or back of the body. So if the edges are more or less opaque, you won't be able too see the number of pieces. |

Look at Apar111's recent post, showing what a typical Highway One body looks like under the semi-solid color. I have at least 1 two piece Highway One body but 2-3-4 is the norm. |

Speaking of your possible 1 piece alder body, check out my 1-piece Fender Tele ash 52 AVR(American Vintage Re-issue) body that I snagged on EBAY a couple months back. There are no seams anywhere on this. I have a thread going on over in the Fender forum trying to see if anyone else has ever got one. So far no one has. Its dated Mar 2009, so I guess every great once in awhile a 1-piece body slips through. Pretty rare find.
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I can't find a joint line anywhere. |

The guys at Wildwood had never seen a one-piece body on any of their '52 RI's, but I guess if it ever happened, it would be more likely on a '52 RI than on a HWY1 ... |
