I have 2 CV teles , and I like the sound of the stock pu´s.

The jack went loose on one of them , and I didnt even try to tighten it. I had a Electrosocket lying around and installed that.
The jack it self still works fine.

Im not a fan of the flimsy feeling switch , but have not been bothered enough to change it for a trad one.
In fact , I have only seen one of these cheap switches fail , in my sons Jackson.
Pu´s , tuners , pots and nut material is the real deal , IMO......
No need to change any of these for something else

I wish they would offer up a different color, I would also buy a second but don't really want two guitars that look exactly the same.

I've gigged with my CV Tele, no issues other than the weight.

Hmmm, I've only opened up one of mine so far, but the switch was an Alpha with a metal side, not like the other Squier switches... doesn't feel too bad, I wouldn't be afraid of it. I change all jacks to Electrosockets, usually order them ahead of a guitar purchase.

I think they're gigable out of the box, I've unpacked and played 5 of them for my friends and I and also a 50s Strat. They were all really nice.

Jimo stated that the tuners should be changed, I have not found this to be the case. One thing I have noticed about my CV is it holds tune better than any guitar I can recall owning, and I probably play it more than any before. In Jimo's defense he also stated nut and proper stringing to cause tuning problems. So with that I would say the nut is quality, especially giving initial investment.

If it plays nice, sounds nice and stays in tune, they it's good enough to gig with

That's a fact! As a teenager in the 60's, the biggest challenge was to put together enough capital to be able to get a guitar with decent playability. The cheap stuff (Harmony, Kay, Airline, etc.) was just junk, rotten playability.

I also said this: " I don't know how good the CV's are..I am just talking about cheap guitars in general "

I never played a CV so I don't no thing about them.....---I never changed the tuners on my Oscar Schmidt Delta King---and they work just fine. I usually just wait until something screws up before I change it..........I don't look forward to changing pups in a semi-hollow body...I can do it---but it is still a drag...LOL......cheers!.....JIMO
