Well let me know if you change your mind. I'm a web design student and would be willing to help you out if you're interested. I'm currently working with Shannon at Bill Lawrence for their site.

My Girlfriend builds them. She's beautiful and makes Guitars.
Isn't that every Man's dream?? ;-).
She will talk with her client MANY times during the build process and make sure she gets all the details correct. You don't buy what she makes, she makes what you want.

unless you got some sort of freak anomoly of a lemon, it sounds like your guitar just needs a pro set up. a quality guitar just doesn't suddenly 'go bad' like that. i'd take it to your best local tech before coming to the conclusion you need a 'boutique' tele

I wouldn't go for a custom build unless you are very sure about what you want. If you're certain this is what you want to do, next step is to find the right builder for you. Check their sites, see what styles they tend to excel at, etc. We are lucky because there are so many good guys & great builders out there to choose from.

I went with Creston & loved the first one so much I got another a few months later. It's been well over a year now, and I've had absolutely no desire to get another electric guitar.

Both of mine are single pick up, no frills models, but they do exactly what I wanted (and more).
