Not my cup of tea, but that doesn't mean it's unattractive...just not my taste.

I kinda like it. But I like orange. And the "gaudy" wood grain almost offsets the "gaudy" pickguard... sort of cool.

I like it.

Would like to see it with a pickguard the same color as the binding.

nice wood. ugly pickguard.

looks like some birdseye in the neck... didn't i read somewhere in this forum that birdseye maple isn't a good choice for necks because the birdseye pattern indicates diseased wood and therefore it's not as strong/rigid?

I'd like to see the guitar with another pickguard, as well as seeing a guitar that could show off that pickguard...both cool - but not together...

Looks great to me. I'll keep an eye on that auction--those Chandler Tele's are pretty good.

Now, dig one of Bill Frisell's guitars:

I just got a live video yesterday where he's playing it. What a player!

It matches the pic with Duke.
The pickguard matches the inlays...it's gotta stay. ;-)

A short scale Jaguar neck on a Tele? Wouldn't that put the octave in the wrong place? How can it be intonated?

Looks like the saddles are jacked as far forward as the adjusting screws will allow.

Might be close enough for R&R.

I don't think I like that flame top or the zebra/cow type pickguard.

I'd buy that and swap the guard for a black one; the rest of it is some purdy!

That definitely looks like the inspiration.

P.S. I sold the bluesland, but I miss it....

I put a lowball bid on it, but I am definitely a big chandler fan. I recently purchased a great PJ Chandler bass that has quickly become my number one bass.

I am a bit of a pragmatist, there is no way I would have posted this except I am not a fan of someone else's name on my guitar. So while I admire Duke Robilllard, I don't really care for "DR" as a 12th marker on a guitar I play. If you take this exact guitar, and make it black (knod to henry ford), I an totally in...

I don't think so. The Jag scale is a full 1.5" shorter. I looks to me like the whole bridge/tailpiece section might have been moved up toward the neck.

As I recall, he had the body made for the Jag scale length. Bill's got a crazy variety of guitars.

I can't find any YouTube of the DVD I'm watching with the guitar, but here's something else from the same era:

Edit: here's a clip of one of my favorite BF tunes from the DVD in question, with the Jag Neck Tele:
