Squier Affinity Tele/Texas Special Pickups- Grounding Problem
I picked up a set of Fender Custom Shop Texas Special pickups to upgrade the stock pick ups in the Squier. When I took the telecaster apart, I noticed that the stock picks do not have ground wires but the new pickups do have ground wires.
Any help on how and where I should ground these wires? Thanks! Fred |

Normally the ground wires(black ones) go to the back of the volume pot. Maybe this diagram from the Seymour Duncan web site will help.

Not sure about the SWITCH you have in your Squier, but you should be able to work it out. Come back if you are having any difficulties.

Thanks to all of you for the help. I was able to get them installed and they sound really nice!
I bought the Squier tele for the sole purpose of learning guitar repair. I managed to get a great deal on it from Guitar Center. They were selling it for $179 but I they sold it to me for $125 because I pointed out a small dent and scratch on the back of the guitar. It plays nice for a cheap guitar and now it sounds even better. |
