Just boxed all the guitars up -- for their new owners. You?

What a fun afternoon and morning.

First, I spent 15 mins with each of the guitars we're giving away (and the two others for our sister websites). Then I boxed them all up for shipping. This way, after the winners are announced next Wednesday I can get them shipped out ASAP. Because I know their new owners will be READY and waiting.

So, let's review each:

Grand Prize: Custom Shop La Cabronita Especial

This is a great guitar. Very fun. Light weight. It has a real attitude. The neck is to die for. And that one pickup --BALLS. It's the only way to describe this one.

First Prize: Ron Kirn Customs Barnbuster T-Style

Very smooth. Great looks. Thick and meaty neck. Gutsy bridge pickup and smooth sounding neck pickup. Dynamite case too. Too pretty for words.

Second Prize: Fender AVI '62 Custom Tele

This guitar is the real sleeper here. Great looks (though the mint guard is a bit much). Super comfy '60s neck (thin). In a room full of great guitars this one does make a strong impression.

Third Prize: Squier John5 Tele

Since when does Squier make such fabulous necks? This one is pretty neat. Versatile sounds from the HB pickups. Nice nice. Good looks. It's heavy though. Not a boat anchor exactly, but not light.

First Amp Prize: Winfield Amps Typhoon

Fun little 4-watt bedroom practice amp. I used it with an 8-ohm speaker and it was pretty polite. I'm guessing this thing needs a 4-ohm speaker. There are taps for both, by the way.

Second Amp Prize: Fender Super Champ XD

This is the second time we've given this amp away and I'm telling you, we could do it every year and I'd be happy. This is a great amp. If you don't win it then you should go buy one. They're cheap and great sounding.

The other prizes are bodies and necks. As usual Tommy's stuff from USA Custom looks great. Real quality. But wait till the winner of the Guitar Mill prize sees his finished neck and body. It really looks great. Add $250 of other parts to this one and you'll have a finished blonde T-style worth $1000+ that you won't want to part with.
OK, they're all boxed up now. Just waiting for your name -- or someone else's name.

I have one thing to say... GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!!

I'm hoping for the SCXD. I've been wanting one for a long time and I just sold my JC-120 so I need it.

Well, even if I don't win I know the $ is well spent. I'm thinking the R.K. is headed to the left coast though!

The amp loves pedals, try a clean boost. It is also designed to be able to be dimed in the apartment without the cops being called.

It is coming your way.

It is just, uh, stopping before it gets there, at my address.

Seriously, I wish each and everyone of you great success. And me a little greater success.

I was such a schmuck my first year; I thought it would be inappropriate for a brash newcomer to win straight away, so I held my entries just past the deadline.

I ain't doing that this year. I aim to win.

Sigh...

I traded my eligibility for these great prizes for mere POWER TO DELETE, EDIT POSTS AND BAN PEOPLE!

Sigh...

Okay question.

After years of gladly contributing because that's the point, but not winning anything, last year I won a Glendale bridge and saddle set, a fantastic prize but not the BIG prize. So does that mean I have no chance this year, or am I building up momentum for La Cabronita?

I prefer to think the latter. Big Mo!
