Gentlemen, I present my new Esquire
Gentlemen, I present my new Esquire
This was put together by Fred @ The Repair Zone in San Diego. I did the wiring, and finished the neck with Tru Oil. It's basically a 50s style Esquire with a few twists -- a tapped pickup, compensated saddles, and a top-adjust neck for easy setup. for those interested in specs, they are:

Did you use one of Don Mare's pups? We do have a few ladies here, and a couple of women too ;)

thanks for the nice comments!
Groovey, it's a Seymour Duncan tapped tele from their Custom Shop. Killer Alnico 2 pickup that's fairly compressed when cranked... NOT a twanger. :) Fred's up in Kearney Mesa ... highly recommended, very fair, and a genuinely nice human being. Repair Zone |

Welcome to the World of the Esquire!!
You have one because you "get it". Prepare to: Become a better player. Work hard with tremendous satisfaction. Answer a million questions about the Guitar. Learn to hear "Nice Tele!!" without rolling your eyes.. Have people say "Fender never made a ONE PICKUP Tele. C'mon!". See other players stand in awe as you pull amazing sounds from it. Look COOL as all HELL. Note: Esquires require cool shirts. (Good idea for a thread)

Very nice, I like the color choice too, very different. I like the traditional with a little extra spice approach. That Tru-Oil really makes that grain pop, bet it feels even better. Nice job

That is one sick looking puppy! Instead of putting her out of her misery, I will gladly take her off your hands. Just PM me.
Seriously, that is way beyond description! Congrats on a very fine job, Robert |

Looks fantastic.
Never heard of Mary Kay Blue, but I sure love it! Congrats! I mean I let out an involuntary "Oh!" when I saw that, and trust me, that seldom ever happens. She's a knockout.

Lookin' good!
Maybe someone could enlighten me... What exactly is an esquire? Is it simply a tele with no neck pickup? Does this really warrant needing a new name? I mean, if I take a pickup out of a strat, its still a strat right? |

That really is heartstoppingly achingly beautiful.
Congratulations. I am soooo obsessed with Blue Esquires right now already - and then I see this! Happy with the sounds? - is she gentle and delicate, or does she roar .. or ... is she one of those gals that do both ? :)
