Ode To The Telecaster

Oh Telecaster-A heartfelt poem by "Telekafunkle"
Oh telecaster, telecaster
You make me play better and faster
Your strings on my fingers feel like my neck in a warm sweater
I play you through my amp, day and night
Your sounds are spectacular, Out of sight!
If I lost you, I don't know what I would do
As you tones are as tasty, as a warm homemade beef stew!
I could fall asleep with you in my arms
Your sounds are endless, in the woods or a farm
But at the end of the day, I have to put you down
As my face lights up with an unloved frown.

LOL!!! I am in no way a creepy man living in a basement who makes sweet sweet love to his tele (thought what man doesn't dream of doing that, right? ...JUST KIDDING!!!), but some background, I was watching T.V. and in an episode of god knows what, someone recited a poem of the same style, so I was having a laugh writing this in literally 60 seconds...

This should not be taken seriously...Unless you want it to be, .

Erm... +1....

You don't have to repeat each post in all the different forums, y'know!....

Saw this same thing in the Bad Dog as well.....

Let me guess - you're having a bit of a quiet day, aren't you?....

Press the "off" button and go and practice some playing on your Tele, like you KNOW you should be doing!......

Ouch, wow dude...Kinda...Harsh seeming? I am guessing the part where you missed me saying that this was a joke? I thought I put about a poem of the exact same thing about something else being on T.V., so I just decided to make a few laughs...

Also, I didn't wanted it to be seen...I was in the "Bad Dog" forums/threads, and somehow I ended up in this forum and when I "F5'd" the page it wasn't there...So I re-posted it thinking I was still in the "Bad Dog" section and it didn't show up...Seriously, no work of a lie...Sounds crazy, I know, but its amazing what you forget when you are watching T.V., Roy Buchanan on the "YouTube" and just posting in a forum.

Thanks for the "+1" though! ;). I am glad you (freakishly) liked it, and hope you didn't think of me as to much of a "creeper"! ;).

No offense but I prefer the Supersuckers' ode to the gold-top Les Paul

At our house, we don't make fun of people's singing, their guitar playing, or their poetry.

I never thought I would feel so bad from comments on a joke poem :(.

Lol, once more: Joke! Simple as that! I can delete it?

Seriously, it was and still is a joke, no means take this seriously, :P.

Yeah, I know exactly what you mean. Our house must be just the same as yours. Here's my folks enjoying my rendition of "Always look on the bright side of life", sung in the style of a falsetto Swedish fork truck driver, whilst accompanying myself on a one-string ukelele and a kazoo...

telekafunkle - no need to delete ANYTHING! We all enjoyed your poetry, and we all (well, nearly all of us!) took it in the spirit of fun and light-heartedness with which it was intended. No need to feel bad AT ALL!

There's always a bit of teasing here from time to time - it makes a change from those folks who take life - and themselves - far too seriously. This is a friendly place to be, and you're amongst friends here....

you could take it as a joke or seriously, and poetry doesn't have to be serious eyebrow-knotting stuff. it can be lighthearted and witty and thats how i read it. the bonus is it is about two things that are part of my life: literature and the TELECASTER.

I did a poem up in your honour telekafunkel but TDPRI moved it to the BADDOGCAFE. I like your poem 'cause it was obvious where you were coming from and I thought anybody who read it could figure that one out. Mine is sung by Corporal Stitch Jones, "The Earl of Funk The Duke of Cool" from Heartbreak Ridge!!
