Vintique Tele Neck Specs??

Hi guys,

I know everyone has a problem with Vintique but I have an opportunity to purchase a Vintique Export for a great price. I dont make or have a lot of money but I want the best guitar I can get or I wouldnt be asking about this.

Does anyone know the Neck Specs on the Export series neck? Frets and radius is really what Im looking for.

Thanks for your help and please dont let this get crazy. Im just looking for an answer to my ?

Brandon

Brandon - if it was my money - I'd get the best too.
And there's people out there who IMHO are superior.

I wouldn't give that guy ANY of my hard earned money. There are plenty of other places to get a fantastic neck without the worry of getting ripped off...

A neck for $1500!!!!! In my opinion that is absolutely ridiculous. No new neck is worth even close to that... Speak to Tommy at USACG. He'll fix you up.

Sounds like it might be a deal then... Can you play it before you buy it?

Hi BrandonZ i own a 5394 tele made by Jay its a wonderful guitar and truly one of the best teles i have ever played. Most of jays guitars have a 50s spec boatneck which feel awesome.
In my opinion its the best tele neck i have ever played The frets are 6105" tall and narrow and even though its a boatneck and its big they are very easy to play . Infact since ive had this guitar i have really picked up any of my other teles If you want some more info please personal message me .

Thanks for the info Luke. I just wish I knew the radius. Thats most important to me to know for now. Jay seems to think it may be a compound radius which would be very cool to have.

hi chet thanks for the comment on the guitar i was very lucky to have the chance of it a while ago .
I know around these parts vintique is a bit of a delicate subject but jays guitars are fantastic and its a really joy to own one .

brandonz i would have thought the radius is a 7.25 and its probaby a boat neck which may have came from warmoth do you have any idea of the year of the guitar . usually jay signs everything on the guitar so im sure the date will be under the guard or under the bridge and most probably in the cavities as well .

Chet here are a few more

Hey. Its an 07. It says shop demo on the inside of the pickguard. It was purchased at Lark Street Music. It also say hand made neck and body.

He gets his necks from Warmoth, and then reshapes certain areas.

Jay does get necks in from warmoth but he also will cut a neck from scratch from very rare wood and some of his own pieces are beautiful they really are amazing . usually his export models feature 2 piece body with a warmoth neck which would aso have been reshaped to his own spec . the premium models tend to have a very light one piece body with a neck made by jay every thing is handmade .
Like i have said Around here vintique seems to be a delicate subject and i dont wont this topic to turn in to a slugging war but i can only say in my experience with jay and vintique that i have been very happy every time i have bought from him he has helped me lots of times and done a lot of favours for me . I just wish everybody had the same experiences i have had as his guitars and parts are second to none .
