Japanese Telecasters

I'm going to Japan in a few weeks and I'm wondering if there are any interesting MIJ Teles to check out that can't be found in the states...Also, any suggestions on where to look ? I've heard about Ishibashi music - but that's about it.

Thanks !

Post lots of pics when you get there, this ought to be an interesting thread.

Maybe you could have polls asking which guits people think are the most awesome.

If you come to Tokyo you should go to Ochanomizu. There are several guitar stores in a small area there. You could also check out Key Music and Ikebe in Shibuya (there are some other stores there as well).

It was interesting in my last experience there, I went to a vintage guitar dealer in a side street near Shibuya station and they had the most impressive collection of American vintage guitars I've ever seen anywhere- many of them in pristine condition. A quick calculation on the currency conversion kept me from even asking..

I'm not "shopping" there though..I'm thinking of something 600-800 range that I can unscrew the neck and stash in my suitcase home. :-)

get your hands on one of the monthly guitar magazines, find some shop names that look good and ask hotel staff how to get there.

If you come upon one of these and feel inclined to drag it back, I will buy it from you. Seriously, I will. PM me, I'm in NorCal.

With the strong yen now, prices may seem a bit high here. There are some used shops you should probably check out while you're here.

also...check the pawn type chains like...Hard Off and 2nd Street...things come and go all the time so you`ll need some luck but I`ve found some real bargains at both those chains. Look at antique shops too.
