Unique Telecaster art.

A friend knows I'm into Teles and linked me to this artist he found named Eddie Breen http://eddiebreen.com/ This guy doesn't just do custom guitar refins. He does wall portraits in a style de defines as piggy back design. I thought his stuff looked really cool and different. Thought I'd share......Heres the Tele;

I love the idea of a Tripscaster but I hate any psychedelic representations of body parts of any kind...it always freaks me out

Eddie Breen smokes dope. That's apparent. There was alot of cool art from the 70's that graced the covers of albums; NEKTAR, TODD RUNDGREN, etc, even some MC Escher had art that would look good on a guitar. This Breen stuff however is just creepy stoner stuff that can only mean something to the artist. Don't agree? Click on the link at the start of this thread and go all the way to the bottom of Breens page for some bad art.

Yeah....his "art" leaves a lot to be desired. Mostly "skill"....

That said if he's going to start hand-painting psychedelic Telecasters I'm 100% behind him, even if I'll never be able to afford one. I still want to fashion a psychedelic Telecaster for myself. One day people will tremble and fear the mighty "Tripscaster"...the guitar that launched a thousand trips....

Guitar players, despite what conservatives believe, are a very conservative group when it comes to their Guitars.

That's better...not perfect or ideal, but much more along the right path, to my mind....where'd you find that? Does it belong to anyone in particular?

This is the original Fool Guitar, Eric Clapton's SG

Painted by The Fool a group of Artists from Amsterdam in the 66 when he was in the Cream. Jack Bruce had a Bass painted as well. George Harrison and John Lennon had painted guitars as well.

Todd Rundgren owned the Fool 66 SG as well. I believe he auctioned for 150,000 and it was latter sold for 500,000 by Sotheby's

Possibly the ugliest guitar I've ever seen. But that's why art isn't science...whatever blows your skirt up.

4teles, for some reason everyone seems to be hatin' on those guitars you like. All I can say is...well, actually, my mother said if I don't have anything good to say, then don't say anything at all. So: sorry.

Good art always stirs up some reaction. Positive or negative, as long as its not neutral. Its all good.

Behave yourself, Stannard. Just because "Piggy back" has some rather disturbing connotations to you lot out in the sticks of Suffolk.....

I like artwork on guitars, but have to say this particular example doesn't do it for me.
Here's a few examples I like, but hey, each to their own.

About a year ago there was a gentleman on ebay selling a Tele with the art from " Some Girls " on the front and back. I really wish I had bought that Tele. I think I was a bit concerned that he was breaking some sort of copyright law, so I passed.

I painted one of my airbrush designs on an ESP in '93. It was a barter; in exchange they built me a custom Strat to my specs; Fiesta Red early '60s. The guitar I painted for them was at the NAMM '93 show. Here is a pic:

I stopped using paint and airbrushes a few years after that and went digital with 3D CGI software and here's a sample of what I do these days:

I love all those Crash guitars.

I'd love to see that 'Some Girls' guitar. Heck the Stones even got in trouble for that cover. Seems they used a lot of images without permission.
