Callaham parchment pickguard on 50s blonde

I have a nice MIM Classic 50s Telecaster white blonde body and I'm building a new guitar (with a 56-ish look)

I saw pictures of the Callaham parchment pickguard on Squier CV Teles (wich are whiter or creamier than the MIM 50s, wich is more beige and more see-through) and looked fantastic but I wonder if it will look good on the MIM 50s, since I tried an old parchment pkg from Allparts I have and the body looked pinkish with it installed! (I didn't liked it at all, see picture below)
I don'¡t want to buy the Callaham and find out it also make my body look pink (Callaham shipping to Spain is expensive)

Anyone has pictures of a MIM 50s white blonde body with a Callaham parchment pickguard please?

I'm looking for a white pickguard for it but not so "refrigerator white" as the stock Fender might be (I didn't tried one yet on this body)

many thanks in advance

Pictures of course can be deceiving.

Better let me say it like this: The Allparts and the Callaham colors are quite similar. I would expect you to react the same way to either.

I never noticed the problem you describe on the MIM white blonde. The one that will turn pink in the wrong lighting, with the wrong accessories is the Highway One blonde color.

Thank you Boris. The Allparts parchment I have was a present from someone of this forum. It was old so it may not be like current Allparts...

I know pictures are far from accurate or realistic but some people post really good natural light pictures here wich are good references...

I'm looking for something a bit off from the Fender white 50s pickguard and wonder if the Callaham would be right... but if it's not white enough it will make my body look bad... (I know, there are bigger problems in the world, but... :P)

Otherwise I may buy a Fender pkg and try with coffee...?

It looks just like the MIM 50's and Esquire. The stock white guard is a shade or two brighter than the Callaham. Here is another shot in the middle of a NOS Nocaster and a Relic Nocaster:

Here's a Callaham Parchment (on Guitar) next to a Fender White, to show the difference....you get the idea.

thank you.
I love the Callaham colour but I think my MIM 50s body will look pink with it based on this last picture from mellecaster.
It looks so much whiter on Dizi's picture...!
And on this one... Or this other one (not shure if this one is the Callaham)

It seems that the yellow hue on the pickguard (I have) make the very subtle pink tendence of the raw ash under the blonde more aparent.
Inversely, a white pickguard seem to pull the yellow of the ash...

or that's what my eyes see and my brain decodes :P

So maybe I try with white first.
Any more pictures of the Callaham 1 ply parchment pkgd very wellcome please. Specially on a MIM 50s blond

thanx

The color depends SO much on the photography. In this photo the brown background and neck makes the body color look "warmer" than it is.

This is a Callaham guard on Fender blonde. it looks almost white but if you put a white one beside it there's a big difference. It's also a better "parchment" than Fender's "aged white".

(resize the image to see it better)

You sorta remind me of one of my Ex-wives when they dragged me along to go shopping for Shoes....

With all due respect of course.

You can try leaving the pickguard in the sun...this should age it into an off white color. This will look more natural too because it truly aged.

I don't have much to add to that.

A white or a white blond body looks best with a clean white pickguard. It ages naturally you know ...

Parchment looks great with darker and/or stronger colors or sunburst.

JMHO of course.

thank you all for your great suggestions, advice and help.

I like the idea of natural aging, since the colour of the actual body is as if it was NOS so a new pickguard will match well.
I may buy the Callaham later and see how it looks in it since I can use it otherwise on my other Tele (Fronia) wich has an aged natural finish

thanx again

Fernando, where in Spain do you live? I travel 4 to 6 time a year to Gipuzkoa provence in the Basque country, often connecting through Madrid.

I live and work in Barcelona but I'm from Guipuzkoa (Fuenterrabia/Hondarribia) and go there sometimes.

I presume you'll be eating very well when you go there...!
Also basque people love music. Many people play an instrument and often sing/play on the street or bars, just because they feel like. Rare combination of rainy weather and happy people. :)

Fernando,

I have a MIM white blond body with a Callaham parchment guard on it. I also have an Allparts parchment guard. The differences in colour are extremely subtle. They are both nice colours but I'd say that the Allparts is a little "warmer", and the Callaham a little "cooler" in tone. The Callaham is a much nicer guard and was a better fit. It also is a perfect colour match for the guard I have on a 19 year old Strat that originally had a white guard which has now mellowed a bit.

Here's a photo taken in natural light. The Callaham guard is mounted, but as I said the differences in colour are very subtle...

OK, so far I've got a Fender white pkgd and it effectively pulls the yellow out of the ash under the blonde. Fine, so far.

The allparts parchment I tried was pulling the red out of the ash, resulting in a pinkish or light violet shade on the blonde finish, and I didn't like it.

I'll try a Callaham parchment in the future because I can use it on another natural/aged Tele (but that will be when I find someone to send it to me, because Callaham shipping to Spain is expensive and ordering too complicate. Volunteers? :)

Did you try Acme Guitar Works?

They also sell Callaham parts and pickguards via the web.

Tommy at USACG recommended Pickguardian and I had him custom make me a PG. I described exactly what I wanted (which happens to be parchment/off-white/vintage/etc) and got it a week later. I'd at least shoot the guy an e-mail, he's a nice fellow.http://pickguardian.com/pickguardian/

Callaham is top notch though.

Thank you both. I'll try those sources.
I know Callaham is top notch and like their products but pickguard is $22 and shipping is $33 plus I have to print the order, send it by fax, etc. It could be sent for $6-9 and have PayPal! I imagine what are their reasons to work that way and it's fine, just too much hassle to order a switch or a pickguard imho...

I was skeptical about ordering by fax from Callaham, but it actually worked flawless and very fast. No worries.

Bill can also be reached by email, callaham@callahamguitars.com, though I'm sure he is way too busy for alot of questions, so keep it short.
