Help Pricing 60th Anniversary Numbered Tele
I have a 60th Anniversary 52RI numbered tele which I may want to sell to help reduce my mortgage (every bit helps). However I'm really not sure what a realistic price for this guitar would be in the UK. A couple of photos are below.
![]() ![]() The guitar is unmarked and is stored in its case so is really as new except for some polishing of the brass saddles. I'm in the UK so how much do you think would be a realistic price for this guitar? Also, how do people sell guitars like this? Is eBay a good place, should I use an auction or a Buy It Now / Best Offer type of sale? Any advice is appreciated. Gav. |

I guess I'd have to suck it and see what it gets on an eBay auction which may be a risky approach. Gav. |

Last I saw one of these for sale in the US, on Craigslist, it was going for $1000.
I heard that some stores had been selling them new for as low as 1200~1400 new towards the end. Or something like that . . .

There's a thread over at the "guitar owners clubs" here and many posts. You may be able to gather more information from those posts.
The fact that some of us grabbed them 2 years ago on blowout doesn't mean much, today. I would imagine they're a $ 100-200 premium over a regular AV52 in like condition. They should be more than that but people don't know. The No-Caster pickups are a substantial upgrade, IMO.

love the grain in that one....what # is yours ?
I would imagine if they are that hard to find in the UK they should be somewhat more than you originally paid ...you appear to have the original case and as mentioned the grain on yours is really nice....if you do put it on ebay put a reserve price on it that your comfortable with....take lots of pics and describe it well...good luck.. and if all else fails PM Boris...I'm sure he could use another one..

No; I'm waiting for the price to go up so I can get rid of a few. I know they will go up, but I agree with Mark; hang onto it and sell something else.

I've owned it for just over a year but am not comfortable with an expensive unmarked guitar; I'm afraid of damaging it. I think I'd prefer a 2nd hand guitar guitar with a few dings already it it. After changing a low cost Tele into an Esquire with a Tonerider pickup ansd vintage bridge I'm also interested in putting together a guitar; not the woodwork as I couldn't do that but from parts. I had one of the non-numbered 60ths and sold it for $750 US with hard case. Not apples to apples.

You had a nice AS Tele with a Callaham plate on her. $ 750 with case was probably not too bad - I seem to recall you got yours mighty cheap. If yours was worth $ 750, then the AV style Limited Edition of 1,000 Tele might fetch $ 1,100.00. Wait. I know. Olaftheholy was buying or bought one from a guy in Germany. Check with him. See what he paid. HE might want a second one.
