MIM FSR w/painted headstock
Stopped in the local music store today and spotted a new, Surf Green MIM Tele w/matching headstock ......$465 w/gig bag.
I knew about the FSR American Standards in various flavors, but wasn't aware of an MIM FSR other than that butterscotch gem that's been making the rounds here. Has the MIM FSR been discussed here before? I don't recall seeing it. Tom |

It was offered with a matching surf green amplifier, a Mexican one, and there weren't many of them. Dealers didn't want to break them up.
Things are just soft right now, I guess. $ 465 is a very enticing price, even against the MFFF deal on the same model guitar in Arctic white for $ 299 with bag, shipped. Play the thing; see if it speaks to you. Offer 'em $ 400; see what happens.

It was a looker for sure. It also was one of the heaviest Teles in the store and I'm guessing it was close to 9 lbs. Interestingly, they had a used Adkins JA-90 in pristine condition....gorgeous in all it's blackness....it was almost as heavy as the Surf Green FSR. I thought that was pretty unusual for a Thinline style Tele. The price seemed right....$475. What spoke to me though was a Gibson J45 Rosewood with natural top at very attractive $1700. I've been gassing for a Rosewood acoustic but I just can't swing it now. I'd have to sell my '06 Martin D18 to help fund the Gibson and that ain't happening. Tom |

I really bonded with mine - love it! I bought only the guitar - when I'm ready to get a Blues, Jr. amp it will be tweed with the ox blood grille. I highly recommend getting this guitar.
![]() Of course, I love my arctic white standard tele, too! ![]() Both have serious mojo. |

Dig the Surf Green FSR. It's between that and the Ash Vintage Noiseless Tele for me right now.
