Don't you think it is strange ...
... that in Fender factories, around the globe, workers are busy all day bolting Telecasters together, while the denizens of this page, (me included), once we get our hands on them, can't wait to start ripping them apart again!
An uninvolved observer would surely consider this behaviour odd. |

Somethings not right with them factory assembly guys, perhaps someone should tell them, they are really wasting their time, when all they need do is shove all the parts in a box, so we can keep the stuff we need, and just part out the rest!. Great Post, Ernie. |

He he...
So true! I've never thought about that. Every Tele I've put my hands on has been taken apart and reasembled as soon as getting home...I think it's kind of ritual now.

Not me either...
... straight off of the wall, and straight to the bandstand.

( electric ) guitars in my 30 plus ( and around 40 guitars! ) years of playing, I usually wind up trying to make each guitar fit my needs. Some are perfect as is, others need something for the proper "fit". The ones I did buy new, a 79 Ibanez AS200, an 83 Ibanez AM205 ( to replace the AS200 when it was stolen ) remained stock. The AS200 was just perfect the way it was. Nothing would have enhanced this beauty. They got it right at the factory. The AM205 was a major disappointment, so I didn't have it long enough to ( traded it for a Gibson Firebird ) start the process. A recent NOS Peavey Firenza is just fine as is and will remain stock. Some others I have not touched are my bone stock 71 Tele and 67 ES-335. And they will stay untouched! When I add a new ( used ) guitar to the herd now, I wait for a period of time before I do anything to it ( unless it needs a major overhaul right off the bat! ) to make sure what I have in mind for it is the right thing to do. I've made some bad errors in judgement over the years ( and have the boot marks on my arse from repeated kicking to prove it! ) by rushing into mods and changes without thinking it through or giving the guitar a chance as is. I vowed to never do that again. And, as hard as it is sometimes, I've pretty much succeeded.
