Hwy 1 bridge plate vs Glendale Blackguard plate
I have a Hwy 1 bridge plate with Glendale cold rolled steel saddles on a modded Baja build I'm making. Doesn't seem to "twang" enough yet. Perhaps a contributing factor is that The neck screws threaded in the body and didn't allow the neck to seat flush in the pocket (leaving a paper thin gap between neck and back of pocket) and might be taking away sustain and some "twang."
Well, I have a pretty $100 Glendale cold rolled "blackguard" no-cut bridge in my hot little hand but I'm still reluctant to install it and make little marks with the saddle screws making it nonreturnable because I fear that the "improvement" in twang, sustain, tone and resonance will be negligible as compared to the somewhat thicker but very respectably constructed Hwy 1 bridge. Any opinions on this? (Boris, Yegbert, Colt W. Knight & KevinB ?????)

I'm none of the above folks that you mentioned...but the 1st thing I would do before the Bridge, would be to correct what you describe about the neck holes in the Body....Open them up w/ a 11/64" drill bit....clean out the hole w/ a pipe cleaner...wax the screw threads...and reinstall the neck properly...Can't hurt ?
