Peavey Cropper Classic - need help!!!!

Hi Folks, I have a chance to get a Cropper Classic for really really cheap but need help. Can any owners of this model explain (in detail) the Maxcess neck joint. (1) Is it an aluminum channel that fits around the neck heel then into the neck pocket? (2) Is the Peavey neck's heel longer, shaped differently? (3) Are any owners willing to post some photos of their Maxcess joint/neck? (4) Have any owners modded their Cropper Classics? Thanks in advance.

Thanks "IPLAYLOUD"! Unfortunately the video shows a newer Cropper model. I guess they're reissuing a newer updated model so the neck joint looks completely different from the older versions (i.e., 5 bolt vs a 4 bolt) and no mention of the Maxcess neck joint. Thanks for trying though. Any other Cropper owners out there?

My thanks to you "vinman" - and yes, have the site bookmarked and it proved informative! But I'm hoping to see a photo of a Cropper Classic's neck detached from the body. Can't find anything on the net that explains the Maxcess neck joint in detail (i.e., photos or drawings). Maybe there's nothing that different from a standard Fender bolt on neck I don't know but the heel area appears very different from a Fender-style Tele. Great help guys (IPLAYLOUD & vinman). Again, calling out to all Cropper Classic owners whoever you are!

I just traded an amp for a '99 cropper classic. Man, what a guitar. extremely well built, beautiful finish, has the maxcess neck and the 5 bolt. Beautiful tone with great sustain. very good pickups. sounds and plays great one of my favorites now, and I have 17 others that are also great guitars. Oh, the neck function.... allows you to angle the neck back to change the string tension I guess. I don't see me every changing it.

The guy in the video doesn't seem to be a hands on guy

He calls bolts screws, and the neck taper triangle thing instead of V

Is that Peavey he says he signs the checks and the Guitars?

In that video he appears pretty clueless

I wonder who really worked with Steve on these guitars

AFAIK Steve still plays them

Using the term "four bolt neck" is actually incorrect. They are screws. Wood screws. If you happen to have threaded inserts in your neck they are machine screws.

He uses both terms and hesitates in his description. Its obvious it is the first time he has looked at this prototype and has to ask someone off camera did Steve ask for a specific feature.

My point being he seemed uncomfortable in his role as spokesman and was not as well versed as someone like you or I with his own product.

Hartley Peavey is an amp guy, not a guitar guy.
