I was also captivated with your daughter in that article. You should be very proud of her. I see a bright future ahead.

Like most people I stumbled across Joanne by accident. I downloaded the album from iTunes at work via my iPod and listened during the commute on the way home. I was instantly hooked. I don't know if it's because I like the rockier style blues (SRV, Joe Bonnamassa, Walter Trout) but it just sounds fantastic. I then found Joanne'e MySpace site and discovered she was supporting Robin Trower and Jack Bruce, who I had tickets for the following week!!! I was astounded by her set, with such a full (fat) sound for a 3-piece. I'm hoping to catch her again before she disappears off the US in December. If I'm honest I was a bit disappointed with Jack Bruce and Robin Trower after hearing Joanne's set. I haven't stopped listening since and I hope to include one of her tracks at a gig I am organising (and playing) for next summer.

What is the decal on her guitar? It looks like a similar design to the one Steve Jones (Sex Pistols) had on his Les Paul (that was 'stolen').

Ran out of things to say !! but Joanne is back home for a few days and has played a couple of UK gigs this week. However she smashed a valve in her Bassman amp in transit to a gig this week. We have never had to replace one before I guess they are easy to get hold of online? I will get some close up shots to post here of her gear when we have time if you are interested.

Great music. I just bought the album from Amazon myself. As others have mentioned, its great to have you participating in the forums. Since you're a a guitar nut yourself as you mentioned earlier, we'll hope to see your comments and thoughts about all sorts of other topics on this forum too. And obviously anytime you have news or clips or schedules for Joanne do let us know. Anytime I hear a sound I really like I'm always curious to learn more on how the artist achieves that tone including any gear or any other techniques they use. Please feel free to share what ever you can.

I've got the album ordered from a local "record store". It's the only one that I know of that is left in our area. I remember finding some Youtube videos of JST several months ago and liking them.

I think everybody here would be up for gear shots. It shouldn't be too hard to find a valve (or valves) depending on which ones she broke.

I read the GP article a few days ago. Never having heard Joanne, my first observation was "wow, she's cute." Second observation: "nice Tele". But the video posted above reveals that she's a heck of a singer and plays like she was born south of the Mason-Dixon line. Great tone, too. I'll have to keep an eye out for her performing in the NYC area.

Just became a fan. She the vocal ability of Joss Stone but can play her ass off. Really love the vibe and the feel. Very natural.

Damn, that girl can play!

She's got a fantastic tone and her attack is flawless. It's all about feeling - not how many notes you play.

Homesick James once told me "You gotta play the blues with a power!" (I took that to mean "conviction").

This girl plays the blues with conviction!

Thank you for the cool information jst team!

Most local stores should stock replacement tubes for a bassman, but you can definitely get them at any online store tat sells amps typically.
