MIK Tele w/ Humbuckers: Fender SE Custom or Schecter PT?

I currently own a Fender American Strat and Tele (both are 3-burst with maple fretboards), but would like to add a fat (translation: 2 humbuckers) Tele.

I have narrowed my choice to a pair of Korean-made Telecasters: a USED Fender Special Edition Custom Tele (FMT or Spalted) or a NEW Schecter PT Tele. Both sport 22 frets on a 25.5-inch scale (same as my USA Strat/Tele), with the Fender having a slightly flatter neck radius (15.75" versus 14" for the Schecter).

In terms of quality and playability, is one vastly superior to the other? Any thoughts or opinions on either or both?

Thanks.

Well, I've got some serious bias on this one ... I bought an MIK Squier Deluxe Double Fat Tele new in 2002 and still have it. It's a fantastic guitar. The fretwork was great right of the box, the finish is flawless, and it has tone. I swapped out the DD pickups hunting for exactly the tone I wanted from the bridge. But the Fender-branded ones have SD Pearly Gates, I believe.

It's a no-brainer to me; get the Fender.

I can get a new Schecter PT for $478, delivered (price includes a new Gator Deluxe ABS HSC). Plus, I like maple fretboards on bolt-on necks.

Can't seem to find many used SE Custom FMTs for the same money...

I never play Schecter PT, but I played FMT a long ago and didn't like the radius. I'd go for Squier J5 tele because I don't like radius flatter than 12". But, that's just me.
