Real Road Worn Telecaster 1967

I showed a couple pics before, but my guitar hero Mr. Guy Melanson was kind enough to let me tear apart his tele so I thought I'd post a couple pics of my favorite telecaster of all time (this guitar was white when he purchased it new in 1967) this is road wear from 45 years of steady playing -

Wow, that is amazing! One of the coolest guitars I've ever seen, without a doubt.

on a bathroom digital scale it was 7.5 lbs. also note that the saddles where flipped around he said the strings always popped out when he bent (played with 38-8 tuned down a 1/2 step) once he switched the bridge around they never popped out!!

I'm curious, if you posted that as a relic thread, would people give the same comments? I think it rocks...apart from that awful pick holder...

Aw Man! That guy was robbed! He probably paid at least $250. for it new in '67 and it looks like that already?
I'd send it back to Fender and tell them I either wanted my $250. back, or else they had better refinish it for me for free!

I think fender should use this for the heavy relic and road worn series blue print!!

Just a thought... how much paint can you have remaining and still claim "original finish"???

I'll play devils advocate just for the sake of it:

Cool...worn in....mojo.....OR; just a guitar that someone really hasn't looked after?

(not my opinion, just playing D A here.......)

I can't really speak on his behalf but the guitar but as a musician he has treated it fairly well. There was a period of a couple years where it was stolen, so thats really the only period where we have no history on the guitar. He has played this guitar steady through out his career and still uses it today. This guitar was not a poly finish, and Nitro does wear down fast. I would say he treats it better today than he did during his road days

How does it look without the pickguard?

Is the original white finish still there, I WANT TO SEE THAT!
