Just put $200 down on a Blonde Road Worn...
Just got back from the local music store. I was there last week and saw a nice Road Worn for the first time. Since then it was all I was thinking about. So I went back and the price was $750 not bad I though so I put $200 down on layaway for up to 2 months. While I was there the Fender Rep was there also so we talked guitars for a bit. Gave me some booklets on the Road Worn and the Custom Series. Interesting that you can have a tele built through the custom shop, has to be done bye a Fender Seller but it's cool he gave me a 2 page sheet with all different types of parts you can pick and choose how you want it. Something to think for the future..

When the Fender Rep was there he looked at the tag and said "**** that's cheap" almost in a way where he was gonna say something but I already had the deposit on it so it was locked at that price. But it was very very hard to turn away from it. The biggest selling point for me was that it was a backup so to speak to my 52 RI and the neck on the RW feels just like my 52 without the sticky neck so it was a lock for me

I just bought one on Monday. I paid $799 for it. I love the feel of this guitar. I have mixed feelings about the pickups, I think I need to do some more adjusting of the pickup height though to find the sweet spot.

It will sound way better with something other than the stock strings.

Y'know I was really cynical about these based on what I could see from magazine articles, then I had a bit of time in a boutique music shop the other day (empty top floor with pot plants and a big leather sofa - that sort of thing).
Stood by the wall was what looked like a 50's/60's tele, I daren't pick it up in case I dinked it! Then I noticed the tags, it was a roadworn! If you haven't seen one of these babies they look really beaten up, but the exposed wood looks like its 40 yrs old! Very impressive. Nice kit, and very real look and feel, well done mate enjoy!
