I knew Phil and his wife. He was mostly Peavey by the time I was around him, the one with all the foot pedals. This was the end of the 70s and early 80s. He was quite a player and they were some of the nicest people I was ever around. Seems like he played a telecaster a bit but when you heard him the least of your concers was what guitar he was playing. He was like the anti-guitar player joke. A hundred guys sitting the audience thinking "I can't do that at all".

Hi Flewis; I'd say Phil's peavey was modified...here are some pics I took, as I used to work on his Peavey that was modified with the Pedal-Pitch setup...Great guy.... Great player!! He had this setup on other guitars in years past...I seem to remember there was an article in GP years back and he had this or a similar MSA unit on a Jazzmaster or Jag...can't remember which.
