Played an interesting Tele

It was all black, rosewood fb, locking nut, Strat-like trem tailpiece, dual humbuckers, four knobs. Slim neck profile. Didn't sound a lot like my Tele, although it had some very nice sounds. Anyone know what this is?

If it was older it could well have been a MIJ Contemporary Tele made
around the mid-Eighties.

but it's hard to tell. I didn't get a good look at it because I stepped on stage, picked up the guitar and played for about 30 minutes with it and then put it down and walked off stage during the break. I did notice that the black headstock had a Fender Telecaster decal on it but that's about all I caught. Funny, isn't it, that you can play a guitar for 30 minutes and not even notice much about it. I could recognize it from the way it played if I ever got my hands on it again.
