APB for Stolen Equipment in Southern California (long)

Brothers and Sisters: One of the mainstay players in the Los Angeles/San Fernando Valley, David Loe, recently had all, and I mean ALL of his music gear stolen. Following is a long list of items, including his Tele and Strats. I'm also including Dave's message. Those of you in San Diego, LA and central California are asked to keep a lookout for any of this gear, and you can email or IM me if you get aline on anything. Dave is one of the nicest, most dedicated players in town, and this sucks beyond belief. Thanks for keeping an eye out. Here's Dave's post:

I need your help. On the 22nd of Feb. I stored all of my instruments at E-Z Storage in Chatsworth. I left on a business trip a couple of days later. I returned 2 days ago, and today went to the storage room. Someone had picked the lock and every one of my instruments, EFX, recording gear, PA system and stereo system has been stolen. This was an accumulation of 30 years of working, collecting, playing and loving each one. To say I'm devastated, would minimize how I feel. I have lost everything. I've made a police report, but you know how that can go. Would you be so kind as to post a note, or send a message to our constituents. Many of our mutual friends would recognize some of my instruments, specially my '73 Telcaster Deluxe with the 3 pickups and the palm pedals on the 'G' & 'B' strings. Anything you might do would be much appreciated. I am attaching a list of the stolen items. Thanks for your help.

Dave Loe

Keep an eye on eBay. I can't believe all the equipment was stolen. Poor David! I don't know him but I truly hope he gets everything back.

Good luck!

No video surveylance tapes from the storage place?

My storage place videos all vehicles coming in and going out, they have cams on the corners of the buildings too. I don't keep my guitars there though! If it was an indoor, climate controlled storage facility, they should have hallway cams. I would also look at the possibility of an "inside" job. Have they had any other recent thefts? I'm sure a local detective would have covered all these bases. Sorry to hear about the theft. It always sucks when someone steals from you. Someone will mess up and that stuff will surface somewhere.

Also, you can go in (or create an account) on eBay

And have them notify you via email each time a new item, that you have specified, is listed. This could prove a valuable tool.

Thanks to all!

Guys, I appreciate your support on this and will pass it along to Dave. Please notify me if anything resembling these items comes to your attention. I'm thinking about organizing a benefit for our friend so we can raise some $$ and at least get him back in the game. I'll keep all of you So Cal'ers posted. Once again, thanks so much for the support.

Sticky?

If Paul makes this "sticky," that will keep it at the top, I think. As it's not my thread, I'm not going to request that it be done, but this seems like one of those things that should stay at the surface for a couple of days.
