SC Guitar show..
Saturday at Spartanburg SC, alwasy a good time.
I went with 1 Tele to sell, and before I was in the building 10 minutes I purchased another and now had 2 . I did sell my 86 MIJ Squire ( sold hi ) and bought a white 50's classic MIM with , get this, Noisless pups, bought low..very low, to low to advertise...It's amazing what power $100 bills have. This classic 50's will be my project axe..very nice player and the PUPS are most excellent..blows away my 89/52RI..so I guess that means I will be upgrading PUPS on the 52RI..I am learning how to spell "Fralin"... Overall the show was pretty nice, lots of hi end axes. lots of Strats, and quite a few Tele's as well. Lots of folks walkin' around sellin' there attic guitars. Many mid to low end items as well. Oh yeh..the dealer who bought my 86 MIJ Squire..offered it to someone else for $100 more and called it a MIJ '53 reissue..BARF... Where's PT Barnum when ya need him most ! t |

Spartanburg SC
T,
Good score. Sorry I missed the show, it is one of the better small ones. I agree that SOME so-called dealers lack... Integrity. BTW, The acoustic instrument world is well represented in the Carolina shows. Any comments on acoustic guitars, mandos, etc??? jamie |

Acoustics at SC
Yes, although I spent 0 time in the acoustic world at the show..I would say that 40% of the dealers were acoustic
with mando's, banjo', the great Gibsons , Guilds ,Martins etc...very well represented.. Also some great Bluegrass playin' goin' on.. I spent half my time standin' in the hall with 2 tele's ,one sitting on each foot....with for sale signs..man those things get heavy after a while ! Both had BIG FOR SALE signs , and folks would walk up to me and ask me if they were for sale..I guess If ya live long enough you do get to experience new things !! Thank god the one I wanted to sell..sold ..and at my price..my legs were gettin' numb ! all in all a good day .. Charlotte show in August..also a nice small packed show... t |
