Reunion Blues gigbags
Anyone out there have a Reunion Blues gigbag? I'm building a tele and am thinking about getting one of these. Any comments on the relative desireability of the "binding" or "gusset" models?

I have a Cordura RB bag for a 335, I use it w/ my 335 and all smaller guits (i.e., it won't fit an ES-175 but Teles, Strats, LPs fit fine).
Super durable, I 've had it 7 yrs. and it looks great. Bill Hullett swears by the leather model which is a lot more $$ but even more durable; in hindsight I wish I'd gone for that but cost was a factor. Mine has the gusset, can't say about one v. the other. best, Jon |

REUNION BLUES!
Hi Rick....
No matter which bag you get you are gonna love it because reunion blues IMHO are the top shelf guys ! As Jon says I prefer the leather models but they are pricey....what sold me on them so strong was....when I moved to Nashville in 1978 I traded a Roland Boss Chorus pedal for one that looked to be a couple of years old....That bag has lived in the back of my truck EVERYDAY...for 26 years back and forth to sessions...trust me...I'm hard on my gear!....it looks like its been in a war and lost...but I've never suffered any damage to an instrument with it...and the last 6/7 years its carried a 59 RI les paul...a FRAGILE guitar! Over the years I've gotten three more I love em so much...If I could afford it...I'd have every guitar I own in one...So even though they are pricey I don't have any other cases that I can use regularly and still claim that they lasted 26+ years....when you divide that cost into the last~ability...its a great deal.... Reunion Blues gigbags
Bill,
Which model bags do you have, the "binding" or the "gusset" models? I'm leaning towards the binding ones (probably because the gusset ones hint at Stratocaster shape); just curious about the difference between the two (besides aesthetics). Rick P.S. Thanks for the replies, everyone. I'll let you know if I make the purchase leap. |

"reunion blues" made the very best straps in all the Universe. Bill Hullett just convinced me to go for the
leather gig bag, I've had my eye on them for 20 years and always thought them pricy but when I use Bill's ratio for usage it's a bargain. If anyone from "reunion" reads this PLEASE start making leather straps again...

I love it, you are a brave man! I carry a bunch of guitars in my RB bag (incl. my beloved 335) but I'm usually too chicken to carry the 58 LP RI in it. You've given me the courage......... I keep scouring for a used RB Leather bag and they are hard to come by, I may just 'suck it up' and buy myself one leather one. cheers, Jon 8) |
