Danish Oil As A Tele Finish?

I've have an unfinished WD b bender tele body, i was just wondering what sort of effect you would get finishing it in danish oil? I'm not one for fancy finishes so this may be the easy route.
Thanks

We used to do them quite often that way in the '80's...

upside - it's easy to do; pretty easy to touch up scratches.

downside - it looks like a cheap finish; it takes a long time to cure; usually smells pretty bad; stains easily; there will be a *lot* of scratches, as there's no surface protection at all.

Personally, I wouldn't do it - You can get fairly easy to apply aerosol lacquers from ReRanch and do a solid-color that will look better and be much more durable.

Danish oil

I used Danish oil on a Warmoth walnut tele body. It was not a bad finish for a non-standard wood, but I prefer lacquer on ash, alder, and mahogany bodies. YMMV
