anyone like the MOTO pickguards
There was a time I really liked the MOTO guards but anymore I just like the plain simple white, or parchment pickguards.
I still like the black or tortise shells guard on natural or white |

I love all kinds of pickguards
Depends the finish of the guitar.
I like white pickguards on vintage blonde color black pickguards on honey blonde or butterscotch color and most of all turtoise one on a yellowed natural finish. :P |

Funny....Now that I think about it....
Another thread asking about guards got me to thinking.
I had put the pearl guards on s few of my Teles, and they looked REALLY sharp, but in the last few months, I'm sort of getting tired of THAT look. As I posted in that other thread, I think it's sort of fun to "experiment" with different guards on different colors. The best luck I had was putting a white pearl guard on a Lake Placid Blue Tele. Very sharp! |

Blaster, I'm inclined to agree with you. I really dug MOTO guards back in the early 90's, but now it seems everybody and their uncle has them. Maybe the fad has run its course. Still have the original MOTO guard on my Thinline, but I wouldn't be putting one on another guitar.

The black tele in my avatar has a moto. I don't think I would of ever bought one on it own but it came with it. I think it looks pretty sharp on there with the gloss black finish and shiny steel. Good for solid finishes.
On a see through finish I think that the moto would detract from the beauty of the wood grain. |
