Getting very excited...

The other week at a local music store I spotted a beautiful natural finish '72 style Thinline. I picked it up and played it for a while and the neck seemed like the perfect fit for my hand. I was kind of discouraged when I went back to see that it was gone. I got to talking with an employee about financing the guitar and I was shocked at how easy it sounds. This store recently bought out the one that used to be there and their policies are way different. He said he could order a guitar just like it if I wanted to do that. I went back again today and it turns out the guitar I played was in the back room on layaway for someone that hadn't put any money down on it yet. I was told I could put a deposit on it and if I do that I'll get to leave with it the same day, making monthly payments on it after that. I'm so excited! This will be my first Fender and man is it gorgeous. If I'm able to bring it home in the near future I'll post pictures asap.

Be careful what you get yourself into.

I don't want to discourage you from getting the guitar of your dreams, but make sure you're 100000000% certain you can keep up the payments.

Best of luck.

This is good advice. I know many young people who have bitten off more than they can chew and very quickly end up in hot water.

When my daughter was your age she was issued a credit card without having to supply any background info or even proof of a job (which she didn't even have, anyway). She thought it was the greatest thing in the world... until the first bill came in. Guess who she came crying to at that point.

I've been in a situation before where I bit off more than I could chew. I think I'll be able to keep up this time as the employee I talked with seemed very lenient, and I work a set amount of hours per week after school now too.. Also, now that I'm done exams and on my break I plan to work a lot more and put as much money on this guitar to pay it off as soon as possible as I've already done most of my Christmas shopping.

Thanks for the heads up though.
