"Dave Edmund's Rockpile"

You might be interested in this: http://www.geocities.com/SunsetStrip.../GigDates.html

That's 3/4 of the original band, and Geraint's a great player...pretty cool! Other guys are from Sweden's refreshments, I think, who can REALLY get the Rockpile sound nailed.

Hopefully more gigs'll get booked and they'll make it up to Scotland (and maybe Nick'll join in...???)

That'll be a show to see. There was a time when a guy like Dave could get airplay here in the NY area; in the midst of a million Dang haircut and keyboard bands in the early 80s!
Always loved his guitar sounds.
Let us know if you get to a show.

Disappointed...no No. Calif. dates!

:( Dave makes a rock n roll last stand on the Arctic Circle.

A few weeks ago I stumbled upon a DVD Audio of Edmunds's "Pile of Rock" live recording ca. 1990. Billy Bremmer on lead guitar sounds like Teles. A lot of fun, it may be available on CD.

I guess this means that Dave and Nick Lowe still aren't speaking.

If anyone sees Dave...

...tell him to come back to NY! And bring the band!

man...that Rockpile album is one of my all time favorites...a real 'desert island' CD. Billy Bremner kills me.

Anybody heard Dave's Handpicked CD

Last year Dave toured small clubs playing solo on his Taylor and Tele, and he featured lots of fingerpicked versions of hits like I Knew the Bride, Classical Gas, and lots of other cool DE tunes. I was blown away just how good an acoustic fingerstyle guitarist Dave was. He was selling a CD that night called Handpicked that featured Dave, his guitars, and studio wizardry. Check it out...it's the only new recorded Dave Edmunds music I know of from the past few years.

I also saw the original Rockpile a few times and there are few electric guitarists who can rock it up like Billy Bremer.

I wonder how he's doing these days...I saw his dot neck '58 ES335 sold awhile back for about $65k or so

Dave Edmunds Gibson

Last year a friend of mine bought Dave's old ES-335, I even got to strum it a few times one afternoon! I don't think he spent that much on it though? I was also wondering what Dave was up to, it was about the same time that the daveedmunds.com website vanished, great Rock'nRoll stories from the last few decades. I did hear that he moved from LA back to the UK...

I loved his 'road story section' on old site

I emailed his soon to be new webmaster and told her not to leave it off.

Rockpile is still one of the greatest live bands I've ever seen.

Saw them in Seattle's Paramount Theatre in 1980 and it was FANTASTIC.
