Question
Nice board folks............I have a question..I own a 1978 standard Tele and I was thinking of trading it and a 78 Strat even up for a new reissue 52 tele.......Does this sound like a dumb move, and would the reissue be similar to what I may have?????????

sounds like a deal that..
was offered at a music store.
"Give me $1500 worth of guitars and I will give you a new guitar at list price that I only paid 50% for..and then I will sell your two guitars for $1500 so I can really make a good deal out of this..for me"... Bad move..I would also advise against it... I paid $800 for my 1989/52RI...on the used market. good luck t |

No way!

Knott either one of them and specially knott boff.

Even if they are beaters the parts alone wood add up tew more than the price of a retail fiddy tew.
I alwayz suggest buyin a fiddy tew but never like tradin off a non-replaceable older TELECASTER or Strat.
I wood haff (kant now) traded any of the reissues I owned for the 78 TELECASTER alone. ![]() A ressue I wood haff traded |

This is a great board thanks for input.
Yes that was a deal from a music store..I did forget to mention that everything involved is left handed also. I have decided for sure that I will not part with my Tele or Strat. They are both in decent condition and the Strat is the only lefty I have ever seen that does not have a vibrato. I do like Strats much better without one. I think this may be some kind of sickness but I want a MIJ Tele, a MIM Tele, a Reissue Tele, a Tele Custom, a G&L ASAT, all leftys of course, and oh yea and I want an Epiphone Joe Pass, a Gibson 335, Les Paul, and a couple of lefty Martins to boot......hahahahah. Thanks again for the input........
