There's no one quite like Junior....
Who else can take a split-time hoedown instrumental like "Sugarfoot Rag," and throw in bits and pieces of "19th Nervous Breakdown" by the Stones, and "Manic Depression" and "The Wind Cries Mary" by Jimi? All masterfully done with twang abounding wildly, fingers going crazy, and playful smirking.
Not only is JB a monster guitar and steel player (if you ever get a chance to see him perform live, do it! It's amazing the way he seamlessly switches back and forth from guitar to steel guitar), I love his singing voice, too--to me, his voice is a hybrid of Ernest Tubb and Ray Price. Great stuff! Joel

It's been said before...
...HE IS NOT A HUMAN!!!!!
That guy is such a monster on anything strung, but yet has that understated, easy-going level personality...even tours with his wife, who gives him the EVIL EYE from behind the acoustic guitar she plays whenever he sings one of those cheatin', lying or sinnin' songs! (she may be the commander of the Starship they arrived in HaHa! What a player!

Junior is a must see. I've seen him 7 times live here in Bakersfield.
His steel playing is the best I've ever heard. The old original guit-steel old yeller is now in the country music hall of fame. Its got a Bullett tele neck, Fender mustang and lap steel pickups in the guitar side and the steel is a single neck stringmaster grafted to the body |

Re: Junior
Quote:
The funniest moment was the drunk woman at the front of the stage. She kept holding up notes written on napkins (it was a dinner venue), which Junior could not read due to her swaying. One note that he managed to get away from her read "Uncover your amps," as Junior had his dual Twins wrapped in a blanket. He read the note aloud and replied, Sorry, little lady... These amps are wrapped for your protection!" Good time... TeleMark

Ain't it grand to see a virtuoso AND
he's ENTERTAINING for the whole 2 hours he's up there.
When Junior does a Country Ballad it is ENTERTAINING, when most other artists do a Country Ballad it's time for a tinkle safari. Junior is real cool country that is timeless.
