Leo's design...bolt-on necks. Why any other way..?
Well, I know it's all been said. The mang was a geeniuss! That topic having been stated...
I just love the flexibility of the bolt-on design. Among other cool axes, my father in law has this Glaser B-G bender he got installed on an AS Tele a couple of years back. SO...he says he just doesn't play it much because he (like I) really prefers the vintage radius and frets (matter of taste I know). I offer to sell the neck for him on ye-old e-bay and replace it with a vintage one. We had intended to get a MIJ or CIJ but I found a good deal on a MIM off a 60's RI (hope none of ya'll were bidding against me). Off with the old neck, on with the new neck. It should be here next week. He's thrilled and I'm looking forward to this one too. Nashville West, yeah! Leo made it so easy for us to have a guitar be what we want it to be. Oh yeah, this thing has Bardens in it too. Any comments on the modern wiring with Bardens vs. vintage wiring? Yes, set necks are ok but I even know of a friend of ours that removes his neck from his USA 60's RI strat and takes it on the plane to travel or visit friends so he has an instruments when he is there. Try that with a LP (mind you I love Les and LPs even though they weigh a metric ton). Take it easy. David I didn't even think but I should have posted the AS Tele neck in the garage sale here first. If anyone interested, drop me a PM.
