Good deal here boys? Nocaster Tele Ebay might buy

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...category=38083
I've seen these guys on Ebay before(very highly rated seller)
I called him on the phone, he says "We knock 50.00 off the price if we take it off Ebay and sell it direct" "This guitar is brand new, we are not a Fender dealer , but it's brand new." He also says they throw in free GROUND shipping. I'm a little apprehensive...sounds like TOO much and I have to disagree with him. If you are not a Fender dealer, what you are selling is a USED guitar. Am I right?

WEBMASTER EDIT: FIXED LINK

Well for starters he seems to be reputable, He has a very high feedback rating and it is 100% positive and it appears that he has done it in musical instrument sales. I think that if it winds your watch and you got the bread, jump on it!
IMO at least from an ebay standpoint it appears to be a reputable seller. Now from a Fender perspective, that could be a different story!

Good eBayer.

I have spoken with Eric in the past when I was looking for a Les Paul. If you look through his feedback you will see all of it is for selling high quality guitars. In the end I brought from a dealer in the US (Dave's Guitar) as they had a better deal on a lovely used Class 5 (worked out at £1400, they list for £3700 here in the UK! :D ). They have a nice 52' reissue take a look:- http://www.davesguitar.com/products.html?13256

Eric is obviously an eBay guitar dealer but one that seems to be keen to please his customers and represent his good correctly. I believe that if all the people who used eBay were as good as this guy obviously is we wouldn't see post on the TDPRI asking if they feel this guy or that guy is a fraud.

Just my opinion on the guy based on his feedback and having spoken to him myself. I haven't brought a guitar from him yet, but if he keeps posting Nocaster who knows?

Good Luck, let us know if you buy it and what kind of service you received.

Regards,

Chris.

New?

I sell new stuff on eBay quite often and I'm not a dealer. However, because I'm not a dealer don't make it used if it ain't used especially if it's new.

Tele

Looks like the standard relic. I thought the two case deal was a tweed and a thermometer. Is there a 24 or 48 hour approval? I've seen the quality on these vary quite a bit. Hopefully your's will be great. Price seems OK.
Good Luck!

Buy low, sell high......way high!

His prices are kinda high in my opinion, and his "auctions" start at the way too high "Buy it Now" prices. You either buy it, or you don't. This guitar he's selling for http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tem=3701305388 that he bought for this http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tem=2367579964

Makes you wonder if you could save a lot by looking a little harder............

He says the two case deal is the way it is supposed

to be sold. He said "anyone selling Nocasters without two cases isn't selling it as all original. I don't know for sure though, I haven't done any research. Still seems a few hundred too high, but I know these guys have to make money to stay in business.

Nice guitar; too expensive

I've been watching Nocasters on eBay for some time now and that is one of the most expensive 2003 Nocasters that's been auctioned for ages. From memory, "new" 2003 Nocasters have been averaging about $1600.

For the record, the modern Nocaster comes with a Tweed Thermometer case and a standard Strat / Tele moulded case. Exactly what's on offer.

For that sort of money, I'm sure you could visit your local Fender dealer and cut just as good a deal for the same money. And you get to play it. The last few I've played have been real lemons!

With the current exchange rate, it makes it an extremely good deal fro the Brits. I know I'm looking forward to my next visit to the US because whilst I'm there I'm going to fill my boots!!

Summary. Nice guitar, good eBayer. If you've got the Dollars and YOU want it, go for it and enjoy.

Peter

Seems unfair to charge new price for used guitar.

Just my HO anyway, seems he's counting on the uninformed buyer, to insinuate his "new" guitar is a good price....somebody just may take the bait. But not me.
I'll pass.

The CS Nocasters come with 2 cases. A regular Fender molded case and a thermometer case sometimes tweed sometimes brown.

They come in 3 finish options NOS Closet Classic and Relic. If someone doesnt want the used look they could get an NOS model and it would look like a new guitar no relic work. The Closet Classic would have some finish checking and small wear areas like a guitar thats been played at home for 40-50 years. The Relic has more wear like a Tele thats been played in clubs and dragged around without a case.

If you really think about it there isnt any basic difference in these $2,200 nocasters than a 52ri or a 50's Classic Tele.

You could buy a 50's Classic for $600 pop in the Nocaster pickups and if you made a recording you couldnt tell what guitar was playing the 2.2k one or the $600-700 one.

52 reissue or

a 50's Classic are nice guitars. I'm particularly fond of the 52 reissues, especially some of the newer ones I've seen. They have nicer necks and lightweight bodies. One selling point for me on the Nocaster is the neck. Nice and fat that feels incredible. Richer sound and much better sustain. Just my jaded opinion.
Thanks
