Twang Fest
I ended up bringing home a twang fest from a new (used) store that opened up around here(2 geetars and an amp). My wallet is hurting but the twang is a twanging.
The amp is a super clean 1965 BFDR http://www.picturetrail.com/sfx/albu...5657252?urls=1 |

It's one of the top bound 50's Esquire relics. Super resonant. I was not in the market for a tele but this one was just a head turner. I played it against 4-5 other very nice CS teles and it really was just so much more alive and spanky that I could not leave it.
I was surprised to see it had the Semour Duncan stacked pole Esquire pup (hot noiseless). It actually twangs more than my 1967 Tele (refin) Here is a YouTube on the guitar http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rJEt-KO4ShQ It was also fate. yesterday morning I was looking for a BFDR and ready to hit BIN on ebay for a Dynosonice Gretsch. I have been also searching for a pretty resonant tele/esquire but not "really" looking. I walk into a new store yesterday and I was actually the first customer. There on the floor is the BFDR and I see the Gretsch on the wall. It was fate. We started talking teles and they said, you have to try this Esquire and bang.... I really could not leave it. I plan on getting a 50's refin tele at some point but for now, this will do the trick. |
