Not rich. Definitely don't look like Shania (at least I hope not). I don't think this is going to work between us...

Hey Marty..I think your sparkleburst looks great.
I realise I'm not up close and personal so it's kinda hard to see any detail, but it looks great from across the shop. Also...I've never seen a sparkleburst that I can recall...so you created a new flavour in guitar finishes. Rob...Better this, than peeing your money down the drain,eh? You have invested some money in something you can still hold in your hands. (unlike the peeing thing! Besides...I take my inspiration where I can find it, and for that I thank all you fine gentlemen for your input. Jan

A picture of a bunch of Teles in itself is just that. But the amount of work involved to dial these in to players is building on an experience base I can say I get great satisfaction from doing. I love to sit back and see, and more importantly [in this case] hear, feel, use etc... What the picture does not show, and I guess can't show are the small details of nice tight neck pocket fits, trimmed saddle screws, nut installations dial in to perfection, etc.. I spend as much time as it take to work a neck pocket fit be the best possible case scenario. Luckily, I am getting more efficient with that process. I have spent more time on this one build aspect than any other setup issue. ;) If I don't need wax on the neck and pocket to get past the snugness factor, I am not totally happy. To tight is not good of course. ;) The processes of setting these up, and the end results... Well, These are a few of my favorite things. I will take a pine Tele with beer keg bridge plate and control plates with nickels under the saddles even with 10.00 PUPS over about anything. But if the Mojo does not surface in the build, apart it comes... Notice which ones are on the floor apart, The 2 US ones. ;) Let me clear what Mojo means to what I build. Looks are not as high on the list as one would think, it just is not for me. How well it plays and works in the mix in the environment these guitars are made for it paramount to my goals when I put one together. I hate to use the 'Tone', but my interpretation of how that, the voice of the finished product is way high on the list. If the guitar does not sing, the voice of the tone... If I can't get the feeling when I hear it, the same kind of feeling I get when I hear Jenifer Nettles sing Stay. It will no be one I keep. This of course is a combination on the player's fingers/technique in the expression department certainly, but the sound of the voice has to be there for me too. |
