Saturday night reason to write the blues
Ok. There is a blues festival in town (http://www.oleblues.net/). Yesterday I saw Charlie Musselwhite backed by the Paladins. Now that's a band I wouldn't mind playing with...
Tonight I saw Taj Mahal. Just great!! I was completely absorbed by his show. Talk about total command of the crowd. He had us singing along by the second song! Now as I was standing there in my own world, I hear a girl saying into my ear: "I wish I was in your dreams!" It just made complete sense there and then, so I didn't even turn around. And when I did, she was gone. What better stuff to write a song about? So I did. A slow blues in whatever minor key fits my limited range voice. She said: I wish I was in your dreams Well honey I wish I was in your dreams too She said: I wish I was in your dreams Well honey I wish I was in your dreams too Cause if I knew you'd dream about me I wouldn’t be so blue And so on. You get the drift... Geir :) |
