Famous Whiteguards

We know about many famous blackguards

Springsteen - Esquire
Keef - Tele
Roy - Nancy
Campbell - Broadcaster

+ lots of others.

Are there any iconic whiteguard teles?

Isn't Andy Summer's Custom a whiteguard?
Robbie Robertson had one or two whiteguards, too.

James Burton's '53 Telecaster was a blackguard but he converted it. That IMO is the most important telecaster in rock an droll history and it was both a black guard and a white guard.

OK, I wouldn't call this one iconic, but it sure got a lot of exposure and generated a lot of interest over the past year:

chris frame(ex son volt, currently plays with the coalmen) plays some nice whiteguard blondes. they can be seen in the dvd 6 string belief, not sure if they are original 50's or not. come to think of it, jay farrar also plays a white guard in that same dvd, but its most likely crestin or some other custom or a partscaster

I agree about most important Telecaster in rock and roll, but as you say, it's not originally a whiteguard ...

Most iconic ORIGINAL whiteguard to me is Steve Croppers 1963 white blonde Tele.

No, you weren't, and since a lot of iconic whiteguards were typical 60's Teles, so ...

Yup...HUGELY iconic...It later became the Brown Bomber and B-Bender too.
I nominate this Fat bastards Tele...he influenced tons of bands from U2 to Nirvana and just about every 'alternative band':

Yes, Frank has played some great looking whiteguards over the years; even converted a couple of his Contemporary Teles.

I like particularly like this one

The Pixies

He's more of a songwriting genius than a guitar-wanker.

I think these are all the same Tele in it's various iterations, but I'm not positive.
